I have been a member of the MBDC of CA since 1988. I was on the Board for 9 yrs then took some time off to train my dog, Jasper, a beautiful Aussie/Border mix who became a Grand Champion in conformation and almost got his CDX. I had to send him over the Rainbow Bridge this past December and I miss him terribly. I currently have Dillon, a JRT/Chi/? mix and Ditzy Diva, a Husky/Border/? mix. I look forward to being on the Board and getting this club back to where it was in the 90's when we had lots of members and one of the largest workshops around (14 rings!). I know we can get there if we all work together as club not just as individual members.

I've been a member of MBDC of CA since joining the Club with Kyla, my Golden Mix, in 1986. Kyla and I earned her MB-UD and MBCH. Currently I have two dogs: Smedly, a Border Collie/Aussie Mix adopted from the Santa Cruz SPCA and Happy, a Cocker Spaniel Mix re-homed from a friend who had to leave the area. Smedly & I have earned titles in Agility, Obedience and Rally as well as his championship. Happy, a more recent rescue, is now 15 years old and still enjoying life. I have served MBDC of CA on the original By-Laws Committee, as Membership Chair, as a Board Member, as Chair of various committees over the years and most recently as President from 2002 to 2009. I have a strong commitment to shelter/rescue dogs, especially Mixed Breeds, as well as to our Club. I look forward to continuing to serve the California Chapter as our Representative to the National Club.

I've been a board member of MBDC of CA for four years and president for three years. Rex, my herding mix with attention problems, has earned his AKC CD & RN, MB-RE, MB-CD and MB-GCh and also does APDT Rally. I want to provide more opportunities for our members to enjoy other activities with their mixed breed dogs working toward Versatility titles.

I've been a member of the MBDC since 2007. My dog Monkey and I have participated in Rally and Conformation. Monkey has his MB-RAE and a few conformation points. I like being on the board because I am concerned with the future of the club and wish to do what I can to keep the club viable. I think we need to branch out and offer different sports and activities to mixed breed dog owners to help increase our membership. I also think we need to emphasize that due to the smaller nature of our club, the individual can help bring about change. Case in point - the recent changes to our conformation rules. I feel that I played a small part in those changes simply by asking questions to get some insight as to why Monkey consistently won his class but never got any further. My questions lead to the discovery that small dogs seem to be at a disadvantage and the eventual overhaul of the event. How far would I have gotten in a club the size of the AKC? Let's work to have a wonderful year full of positive energy and can-do-it'ness!

I have been with the club since 2006 with my dog Sarah. I have enjoyed participating in many club activities with her and my other dog Tina. With help from members of the club and trainers Sarah has a RE title and Tina has a RN. Sarah is a therapy dog with over two hundred visits at a Rehab facility. I am not concerned about getting more titles on my dogs, but do enjoy going to the trials, taking pictures and being with other club members. I have been a club photographer at many of the trials and will continue.

I have been a member for the past 5 years and have been showing Hoss my Shepherd mix since then. I like being on the board and keeping the club going into the future.
